The government of Lesotho has published the Public Health (Covid-19) (risk Determination and Mitigation Measure) (No.5) (Amendment) Regulations, 2022 on 27 January 2022

Lesotho has moved to the adjusted Blue Colour Code

What you will need to cross the border: 

  • International travellers entering Lesotho must show a valid PCR test taken no more than 72 hours before arrival at the border.
  • Please note that you must enter the country within 72 hours of taking the COVID-19 test

 

Curfew 

Lesotho will no longer be placed under curfew

International Travel
  • Departing and arrivals including tourists
  • Permitted while observing COVID-19 protocols
  • 72 hour negative certificate
Restaurants and fast foods
  • Permitted
  • Strictly register at entrance with proof of vaccination certificate while observing all other COVID-19 protocols
Liquor stores
  • Resume normal operation
  • Register with proof of vaccination certification and sanitise and ensure physical distancing for sit-ins at all times
  • Nightclubs to resume normal operation.
  • Strictly register with proof of vaccination certification and ensure physical distancing at all times
Entertainment industry
  • Entertainment permitted subject to issuance of permit by the police
  • Observe physical distancing for indoor and outdoor events in only privately owned places
  • Provide not less than 5 security guards/ bouncers
Tourism industry
  • Accommodation venues open with 100% occupancy and ID registration
  • Allow conference, meetings and workshops with participants, facilitators and organisers wearing face marks and observing physical distancing at all times.
  • Allow one hour disinfection between meetings and workshops
Gambling industry
  • Casino – the number of persons entering a casino shall not exceed 50% based on the available floor space of the casino
  • Disinfect machines before use by the next person
  • Sport betting: the number of persons entering a sports betting site shall be determined by 1.5 metre distancing
  • Limited Pay-Out Machines (LPM’s): Operate
  • Register clients and observe COVID-19 protocols
Health services
  • Resume normal operating hours
  • Patients who not vaccinated shall be offered counselling services andCOVID-19 vaccine
Traditional/ Initiation Schools
  • Permitted subject to adherence to Standard Risk Based Guidelines
Churches
  • Services should last for not more than 3 hours
  • Sanitise, wear face masks at all times including when singing and ensure physical distancing. Allow 1 hour for disinfection between services
  • Night prayer permitted subject to production of poof of vaccination certificate while observing COVID-19 protocols above
Pitso
  • Permitted
  • Strictly register with proof of vaccination certification and sanitise, wear face masks and ensure physical distancing at all times
Political gatherings
  • Only constituency rallies and meetings allowed and be completed by 15:00
  • Strictly screen, register with proof of vaccination certificates and sanitise, wear facemasks and ensure physical distancing at all times
  • National Annual Policy and Elective Conferences are allowed only with permission from Police based on the COVID-19 protocols above
Gyms
  • Operate at 50% capacity of the facility inside with ventilation
  • Disinfect surfaces of the equipment’s between use
  • Screen, register with proof of vaccination certification and sanitise at the entrance.
  • Wear face marks at all times, physical distance
