Candice started her academic journey in 2012 where she completed various International Examinations and became a Microsoft Certified Professional Software Developer. In 2015 she went on to study LLB at the University of the Free State where she was later chosen to compete in the Southern African National Debating Championships for the UFS Debating Society in 2017.
She pursued a career in law because she believes that in order to contribute to true positive change in her community one must be empowered by how the law can aid in establishing better conditions for the most vulnerable.
Candice later became Vice-Chairperson of a non-profit organisation called “Girls Aspire” where she committed herself to the mentorship of matriculant girls from disadvantaged backgrounds around the Free State. In 2018 she became a volunteer for the UFS Institute for Social Justice and Reconciliation where she was chosen to become a stage manager for transformative social productions such as “As we Wait”.
She also learned the dynamics of management, communication, debt collection and administration in 2019, where she was offered a position as a Property Manager for Thrive Real Estate.
