LESOTHO MOVES TO LEVEL BLUE
The Kingdom of Lesotho’s has now been placed under level blue.
The changes from into effective from 28 April 2021.
Please note that there is a nationwide curfew from 10pm to 4am.
Movement across the border will include:
- Any individual may enter Lesotho including departing and arriving tourists at all ports of entry.
- Travellers must present an approved 72 hours negative COVID-19 test certificate.
New Regulations under the adjusted blue stage
- Political gatherings
- Maximum of 200 people inside and maximum of 500 outside.
- should last not more than 3 hours from 12:00-15:00.
- Alcohol is prohibited.
- Wear masks and ensure physical distancing at all times and observe all other COVID-19 protocols.
- Political gatherings
- Operate at full capacity.
- No standing in 22 seaters and buses.
- Ensure short halls for long distance trips.
- Observe COVID-19 protocols.
- No eating in the vehicle.
- Sports events
- Sports events are permitted.
- Premier League and A Division matches to have a maximum of 2500 spectators in open stands and 1500 for lower divisions.
- For stadiums with sit-ins, allow 50% capacity of the area for spectators.
- Disinfect surfaces of the equipment between use at all times.
- The model will work for all Sporting Codes.
- Alcohol is prohibited.
- Strictly ensure screening, registration with ID’s and sanitise at the entrance.
- Wear masks at all time and ensure physical distancing while observing all other OVID-19 protocols.
- Weddings
- Allow only 100 people if inside and 200 people if in an open outdoor setting.
- Avoid buffet services.
- Alcohol is prohibited.
- Wear masks at all times and observe COVID-19 protocols.
- Tourism industry
- Accommodation venues open with 100% occupancy.
- Allow conferences, meetings and workshops at 50% capacity of the conference facility.
- Observe COVID-19 protocols.
- Social activities
- The following activities are 100% restricted:
- Initiation/ Traditional Schools
- Social/Family gatherings
- Political gathering
- Industrial action (picketing, protests, demonstrations)
- The following activities are 100% restricted:
- Tourism industry
- Accommodation venues open with 100% occupancy.
- Allow conferences, meetings and workshops at 50% capacity of the conference facility
- Observe COVID-19 protocols.
- Pitso
- Maximum 500 people while observing COVID-10 protocols .
- Alcohol not allowed.
- Should not last not more than 3 hours from 10:00 to 13:00.
- Social activities
- 100% restricted including:
- Initiation/Traditional schools; and
- industrial action (picketing, protests and demonstrations)
- 100% restricted including:
- Public recreational parks
- Permitted
- Indoor entertainment
- Permitted for a maximum of 200 people per 300 square meters inside.
- Where the area is less than 300 square metres
- Allow for 50% capacity
- Outdoor entertainment
- Permitted in only privately owned property with a maximum of 200 people per 300 square meters.
- In large open area, maximum of 2000 people allowed.
- Provide not less than 5 security guards/bouncers.
- Events
- Start from 10:00 – 20:00
- Alcohol is prohibited.
- Strictly ensure screening, registration with ID’s and sanitise at the entrance.
- Wear masks at all times and ensure physical distancing while observing all other COVID-19 protocols.
- Churches
- 50% capacity if inside.
- Maximum of 500 people if outside and the service should last for not more than three hours.
- Wear masks at all times including when singing.
- Night vigils are not permitted.
- Schools and Institutions of Higher learning
- Open on rotational basis.
- All must adhere to Standard Risk-Based Guidelines.
- School bus drivers must disinfect daily.
- Sanitise the students.
- Ensure that students where facemasks all the time.
- Liquor stores (wholesalers, offsales, taverns, shebeens, canteens, nightclubs)
- Liquor stores operate from Monday to Sunday.
- Operate from 08:00 to 20:00 with take-away from the liquor premises.
- Nightclubs to be closed permanently.
- Social family gatherings
- Open for 50 people inside and 100 people outside only.
- Alcohol prohibited.
- Observe COVID-19 protocols.
- Hair salons, Barbers and nail salons
- Resume operations while observing COVID-19 protocols.
- Gyms
- Open for 30% capacity of the facility.
- Disinfect surfaces of the equipment’s between use at all times.
- Strictly ensure screening, registration with ID’s and sanitise at the entrance.
